Shane was a Policy Advisor at Aii, specializing in energy, environmental, technology, and infrastructure issues.

A skilled strategist and communicator, Shane has worked for the U.S. House of Representatives, a large energy trade association, and a global public relations and communications firm. Shane has focused primarily on energy, natural resource, infrastructure, and regulatory policy issues and more recently on issues surrounding disruptive new technologies keyed on improving safety and making goods and services less costly while increasing efficiency and convenience.

Shane’s work centers on public policy research and development, strategic communications and advocacy, and assessing how regulatory, legislative, and other political risks impact businessesand consumers. Shane also has counseled individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations across a range of sectors on federal and state legislative and regulatory processes and on developing effective engagement strategies for government and the public at large.

Shane joined Aii from the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on the Budget, where he worked for then-Chairman Paul Ryan. As a Budget Analyst, Counsel, and Policy Advisor, Shane developed and managed all energy, natural resources, and regulatory policy for the Chairman and worked with House Leadership to enforce budget and parliamentary rules.

Earlier in his career, Shane worked as a Policy Advisor for the American Petroleum Institute (API), as Legislative Counsel for Congressman Bob Latta, and in the entertainment marketing division at the public relations firm Rogers & Cowan.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin; Shane is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a J.D. from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.
