The Alliance for Innovation and Infrastructure (Aii) is excited to announce the launch of the Supply Chain Efficiency and Integrity Project, a major research and education initiative designed to confront the most pressing challenges in freight and logistics.

Every American depends on the integrity of our supply chains, whether through the price of groceries or the reliability of deliveries. Yet industry professionals are acutely aware of mounting obstacles: driver shortages and turnover, detention and dwell delays, limited truck parking, theft and loss prevention, and regulatory hurdles. Together, these challenges reduce efficiency, raise costs, and compromise the resilience of the transportation network.

To address these barriers, Aii will produce a comprehensive white paper identifying hidden and soft costs across supply chain operations, develop one-pager resources for industry leaders and policymakers, publish policy commentary, and host forums bringing together industry stakeholders with government decision-makers.

With Aii’s founder and chairman being recently appointed to the U.S. Department of Transportation Advisory Board – a select group of only a dozen national leaders advising Secretary Duffy on freight, logistics, and infrastructure modernization – the time is now to redouble our efforts in identifying challenges and solutions. This appointment highlights the urgency of these issues and reinforces why Aii is intensifying its focus on practical, data-driven reforms in this space.

The initiative will run from late 2025 into early 2026 and requires $250,000 in total funding to execute. Aii is seeking both financial partners and active stakeholder input from shippers, carriers, drivers, and logistics professionals to ensure the research is grounded in real-world experience.

“Supply chain challenges are not abstract — they are felt by businesses and consumers every day,” said Benjamin Dierker, Executive Director of Aii. “By engaging stakeholders across the logistics ecosystem and advancing independent research, this project will promote practical reforms to strengthen efficiency, resilience, and safety.”

How You Can Help

Industry organizations, policymakers, and the public are invited to partner with Aii in advancing this effort. Stakeholders can contribute by sharing insights, providing data, or supporting the project financially. Together, we can develop meaningful reforms and solutions that improve the quality of life for drivers, lower costs for businesses, and safeguard the nation’s supply chain integrity.
